A well known problem with medical imaging techniques are artefacts. Artefacts removal play a decisive role in medical and radiological diagnostics.
Ring or stripe artefacts are technical-systematic errors, e.g. in computer tomography or sonography.
We have developed an algorithm able to remove both ring and stripe artefacts from medical images.
Unlike other known algorithms, our artefacts removal algorithm does not generate new artefacts.
Another advantage of our algorithm is that the runtime of the code is very low.
Our algorithm can therefore also be used for video sequences. The code removes artefacts independently from their centre and their radius.
